What do Splitter Diffusers do?
Front splitter tunnels or diffusers allow the air beneath the splitter blade to expand upwards, creating a high velocity, low-pressure air pocket. This turns a flat splitter into a 3D aerodynamic element and greatly increases downforce with a near zero drag penalty.
We’ve designed our universal splitter diffusers / tunnels designed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software to work with almost any front splitter, greatly increasing it’s aerodynamic performance.
Why choose Motorsport Aero?
We’re just like you! We wanted more downforce and more speed but found options on the EU market lacking or extremely expensive.
This pushed us to create Motorsport Aero with the mission of providing the best value for money aero on the market.
With the help of some leading aerodynamic engineers, we have already designed some of the most effective aero elements available in Europe and the world at unbeatable prices.
How do we manufacture our splitter tunnels?
What performance benefits do our splitter tunnels provide?
Splitter diffusers can more then double the downforce generated compared to using a simple, flat front splitter.
High velocity, low-pressure airflow is what sucks the splitter to the ground and generates downforce.
You can expect up to 100kg of additional downforce at 200 kph by using our tunnels, compared to a flat-blade front splitter.
Do splitter diffusers have any drawbacks?
One of the greatest advantages of splitter diffusers is that they create near-zero drag, making them an excellent aerodynamic choice for enhancing cornering ability without compromising straight line speed.
In order to achieve maximum performance, it’s important to ensure proper venting of the wheel arches. This allows the air to escape efficiently, reducing turbulence and improving airflow around the vehicle.
As a result of maintaining smooth airflow and minimising drag, splitter diffusers can significantly improve your car’s handling and stability at high speeds.
Mounting Guide
To maximise performance, it’s crucial to allow sufficient space in front of and behind splitter tunnels to prevent airflow restrictions. We have incorporated mounting holes for secure attachment, whether riveted, bolted, or bonded to your vehicle’s splitter. Ensure your splitter is firmly mounted to the car. These aerodynamic components can significantly increase downforce, potentially dislodging a poorly secured splitter.
